Current status: Valid as Auxis brachydorax Collette & Aadland 1996. Scombridae: Scombrinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern California (U.S.A.) south to Chile, including southern Gulf of California (Mexico) and Galapagos Islands (Ecuador). Habitat: marine.
