Abstracts from this society meetings are generally not considered part of the permanent scientific record and are rarely subsequently cited. We regard the name as not available, not in a work issued for the purpose of providing a permanent scientific record. The description can date to Sauwatari, López & Pietsch as above. •Valid as Hypomesus chishimaensis Saruwatari, López & Pietsch 1997 -- (Nakabo 2000:296 [ref. 25086], Shed'ko 2001:264 [ref. 25405], Pietsch et al. 2001:141 [ref. 25688], Nakabo 2002:296 [ref. 26001], Bogutskaya & Naseka 2004:126 [ref. 28183], Parin et al. 2014:113 [ref. 33547] with question). •Synonym of Hypomesus nipponensis McAllister 1963 -- (Bogutskaya et al. 2001:45 [ref. 26178], Ilves & Taylor 2007:182 [ref. 29041], Dyldin & Orlov 2016:673 [ref. 34853]). Current status: Synonym of Hypomesus nipponensis McAllister 1963. Osmeridae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
