Syntypes: whereabouts unknown. •Synonym of Pseudophoxinus stymphalicus (Valenciennes 1844) -- (Kottelat 1997:75 [ref. 22952]). •Valid as Pseudophoxinus thesproticus (Stephanidis 1939) -- (Kottelat & Barbieri 2004:154 [ref. 27797], Freyhof et al. 2006:418 [ref. 28484], Bogutskaya et al. 2006:336 [ref. 29055]). •Valid as Pelasgus thesproticus (Stephanidis 1939) -- (Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:104 [ref. 29197], Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:219 [ref. 29996], Perea et al. 2010:16 [ref. 31802], Barbieri et al. 2015:58 [ref. 35029], Rodríguez et al. 2021:4 [ref. 38588], Tsaparis et al. 2021:[4] [ref. 38151], Shumka et al. 2023:39 [ref. 40747]). Current status: Valid as Pelasgus thesproticus (Stephanidis 1939). Leuciscidae: Leuciscinae. Distribution: Southeastern Europe: southern Albania and northwestern Greece, including Corfu (Kerkyra) Island. Habitat: freshwater.
