Holotype: NCIP 6189. Paratypes: WAM 31782-001 (2). Type catalog: Moore et al. 2008:25 [ref. 30117]. •Valid as Apogon leptofasciatus Allen 2001 -- (Allen & Adrim 2003:35 [ref. 26830]). •Valid as Ostorhinchus leptofasciatus (Allen 2001) -- (Allen & Erdmann 2012:396 [ref. 31980], Fraser 2012:82 [ref. 32177], Mabuchi et al. 2014:200 [ref. 33426], Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:97 [ref. 36965], Allen & Erdmann 2024:421 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Ostorhinchus leptofasciatus (Allen 2001). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Western Pacific: West Papua (Indonesia) and Great Barrier Reef/Queensland (Australia). Habitat: marine.
