Plus other material. •Synonym of Gnatholepis cauerensis Bleeker 1853, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Randall 2005:536 [ref. 28239]). •Valid as Gnatholepis australis Randall & Greenfield 2001 -- (Randall 2009:181 [ref. 30557]). •Synonym of Gnatholepis cauerensis (Bleeker 1853) -- (Larson & Buckle 2012:5 [ref. 32272]). Current status: Synonym of Gnatholepis cauerensis (Bleeker 1853). Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: South Pacific: southeastern Oceania (if valid). Habitat: brackish, marine.
