Paratypes: VNCNTTS I: H.01.73.08.02 - 03 (5). •Valid as Varicorhinus yeni Nguyen & Ngô 2001. •Probably should be regarded as a synonym of Onychostoma gerlachi (Peters 1881) -- (Xin et al. 2009:260 [ref. 30708]). •Questionably the same as Onychostoma fangi Kottelat 2000 -- (Kottelat 2013:129 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Onychostoma fangi Kottelat 2000. Cyprinidae: Acrossocheilinae. Distribution: Yen Bai Province, Vietnam (if valid). Habitat: freshwater.
