Family Cyprinidae v. 1; ref. 28301] Yen Bai Province, Lue Yen district, Phuc Loi, Ngio Thuong, Vietnam. Holotype: VNCNTTS I: H.01.73.09.01. Paratypes: VNCNTTS I: H.01.73.09.02 - H.01.73.08(or 09?).03 (5). •Valid as Varicorhinus thacbaensis Nguyen & Ngô 2001. •Probably should be regarded as a synonym of Onychostoma gerlachi (Peters 1881) -- (Xin et al. 2009:260 [ref. 30708]). •Synonym of Onychonstoma fangi Kottekat 2000 -- (Kottelat 2013:129 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Onychostoma fangi Kottelat 2000. Cyprinidae: Acrossocheilinae. Distribution: Yen Bai Province, Vietnam [if valid]. Habitat: freshwater.
