[P.] 2006 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 4 (no. 4); ref. 28896] Small tributary stream of Río Puré, Río Japurá draingae, upper Amazonas basin, 2°07'05"S, 69°37'50"W, Amazonas, Colombia. Holotype: ICNMHN 6721. Paratypes: ANSP 178616 (4, 1 c&s); ICNMHN 6722 (1); MCP 28172 (1), 34087 (1 c&s); MHNUC 474 (1). Type catalog: Mojica & Agudelo-Zamora 2018:34 [ref. 36127]. •Valid as Otocinclus batmani Lehmann A. 2006 -- (Barriga Salazar 2014:112 [ref. 35745], Ribeiro & Lehmann A. 2016:240 [ref. 34636], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:76 [ref. 35633], Delapieve et al. 2018:23 [ref. 35713], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:26 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Otocinclus batmani Lehmann A. 2006. Loricariidae: Hypoptopomatinae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River basin (Colombia, Ecuador and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
