Holotype: HUMZ 187832. Paratypes: 40 specimens at HUMZ and MRAC. •Valid as Cyprichromis coloratus Takahashi & Hori 2006 -- (Konings 2015:205 [ref. 34660], Konings 2019:218 [ref. 36983]). Current status: Valid as Cyprichromis coloratus Takahashi & Hori 2006. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa, Lake Tanganyika. Habitat: freshwater.
