Current status: Valid as Zaireichthys conspicuus Eccles, Tweddle & Skelton 2011. Amphiliidae: Leptoglaninae. Distribution: Southern Africa: upper Zambezi and Chobe rivers, possibly also Okavango system. Habitat: freshwater.
