Paratypes: UW 119522 (1), 119523 (1), 19920 (2). Type catalog: Pietsch & Arnold 2020:338 [ref. 38284]. Genus Histiophryne is feminine, so the species name (an adjective meaning bearded) is changed to pogonia. •Valid as Histiophryne pogonius Arnold 2012 -- (Arnold & Pietsch 2018:629 [ref. 36266], Pietsch & Arnold 2020:338 [ref. 38284]). •Valid as Histiophryne pogonia Arnold 2012.
