Paratypes: ANSP, AUM, INPA, LIA, MZUSP, UNT. Plus non-type material. •Valid as Pseudacanthicus pirarara Chamon & Sousa 2016 -- (Chamon & Costa e Silva 2018:507 [ref. 35821]). Current status: Valid as Pseudacanthicus pirarara Chamon & Sousa 2016. Loricariidae: Hypostominae. Distribution: Rio Xingu basin, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
