Current status: Valid as Rhinotocinclus yaka (Lehmann A., Lima & Reis 2018). Loricariidae: Hypoptopomatinae. Distribution: South America: upper Rio Tiquié drainage, upper Rio Negro basin, Amazonas, Brazil (and possibly Colombia). Habitat: freshwater.
