Holotype: KAUM-I 178667. Paratypes: (25) KAUM-I, NSMT. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Acentrogobius nigromaculatus Koreeda & Motomura 2025. Current status: Valid as Acentrogobius nigromaculatus Koreeda & Motomura 2025. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Rodrigues Island (Mauritius), Raja Ampat Island and Saipan (Indonesia), Milne Bay (Papua New Guinea), Iriomote-jima, Amami-oshima and Yaku-shima Islands, and Kyushu, Japan. Habitat: brackish, marine.
