Holotype (unique): UMMZ 81530. •Valid as Chasmistes muriei Miller & Smith 1981, but apparently extinct -- (Baxter & Stone 1995:141 [ref. 23374], Gilbert 1998:193 [ref. 23395], Nelson et al. 2004:79 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2006:8 [ref. 30386], Page & Burr 2011:306 [ref. 31215], Page et al. 2013:79 [ref. 32708]). Current status: Valid as Chasmistes muriei Miller & Smith 1981. Catostomidae: Catostominae. Distribution: Wyoming, U.S.A. [extinct]. Habitat: freshwater.
