puetzi, Epiplatys fasciolatus Berkenkamp [H. O.] & Etzel [V.] 1985:397, Fig. [Die Aquarien- und Terrarienzeitschrift (DATZ) v. 38 (no. 9); ref. 8974] 20 kilometers north of Buchanan, Liberia, 6°04'N, 10°01'W. Holotype: SMF 18430. Paratypes: SMF 18431 (10). Also appeared in Berkenkamp & Etzel 1986 [ref. 21584]. •Synonym of Epiplatys olbrechtsi Poll 1941 -- (Paugy et al. 1990:342 [ref. 26477], Romand in Lévêque et al. 1992:637 [ref. 21590], Seegers 1997:15 [ref. 23895]). •Synonym of Epiplatys olbrechtsi Poll 1941, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Wildekamp 1996:108 [ref. 23649], Seegers 1997:16 [ref. 23895]). •Synonym of Epiplatys fasciolatus (Günther 1866), but a valid subspecies puetzi Berkenkamp & Etzel 1985 as described -- (Lazara 2001:106 [ref. 25711]). •Valid as Epiplatys puetzi Berkenkamp & Etzel 1985 -- (Huber 2024:53 [ref. 41036]). Current status: Valid as Epiplatys puetzi Berkenkamp & Etzel 1985. Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: West Africa: eastern Liberia. Habitat: freshwater.
