shagensis, Patagonotothen guentheri Balushkin [A. V.] & Permitin [Yu. Ye.] 1982:544 [14], Fig. 1 [Voprosy Ikhtiologii v. 22 (no. 4); ref. 8990] Shag Rocks, southwestern Atlantic, depth 140 meters. Holotype: ZIN 45473. Paratypes: ZIN 45474 (9, now 8). On p. 14 of English translation. •Synonym of Patagonotothen guntheri (Norman 1937) -- (DeWitt et al. 1990:312 [ref. 21696]). •Synonym of Patagonotothen brevicauda (Lönnberg 1905), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Miller 1993:128 [ref. 21297]). •Valid as Patagonotothen shagensis (Balushkin & Permitin 1982) -- (Balushkin 2000:S97 [ref. 29555]). Current status: Valid as Patagonotothen shagensis (Balushkin & Permitin 1982). Nototheniidae: Nototheniinae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic. Habitat: marine.
