Bulletin de la Société Française d'Ichtyologie No. 4; ref. 9012] Small river south of Totota, 6°49'N, 9°56'W, Liberia. Holotype: MNHN 1978-0134. Paratypes: MNHN 1978-0135 (7). •Synonym of Epiplatys fasciolatus (Günther 1866) -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:251 [ref. 6198], Paugy et al. 1990:342 [ref. 26477]). •Synonym of Epiplatys fasciolatus (Günther 1866), but a valid subspecies tototaensis Romand 1978 as described -- (Romand in Lévêque et al. 1992:637 [ref. 21590], Wildekamp 1996:66 [ref. 23649], Seegers 1997:16 [ref. 23895], Lazara 2001:106 [ref. 25711], Etzel 2009:82 [ref. 30290], Pezold et al. 2021:84 [ref. 38075]). •Valid as Epiplatys tototaensis Romand 1978 -- (Huber 2024:50 [ref. 41036]). Current status: Valid as Epiplatys tototaensis Romand 1978. Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: West Africa: western Liberia. Habitat: freshwater.
