Current status: Valid as Akko brevis (Günther 1864). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: El Salvador, Panama, Peru. Habitat: marine.

dionaea, Akko Birdsong [R. S.] & Robins [C. R.] 1995:676, Fig. 1 [Copeia 1995 (no. 3); ref. 21667] Amapa Province east of Ilha de Maracá, Brazil, 2°32'N, 49°57'W, depth 20 meters. Holotype: USNM 329524. Paratypes: ANSP 171906 (4), KU 23425 (4), USNM 329525 (6). Spelled dionea in original abstract; named after the plant genus Dionaea, so that spelling is used: Van Tassell & Baldwin 2004:2 [ref. 27546] serve as first revisers if needed, selecting dionaea. •Valid as Akko dionaea Birdsong & Robins 1995 -- (Moura et al. in Menezes et al. 2003:97 [ref. 27192], Van Tassell & Baldwin 2004:2 [ref. 27546], Acero P. et al. 2005:135 [ref. 28151], Van Tassell 2011:167 [ref. 31732], Van Tassell et al. 2012:88 [ref. 31948], Carvalho-Filho in Marceniuk et al. 2021:230 [ref. 38945], Carvalho-Filho 2023:242 [ref. 40480]). Current status: Valid as Akko dionaea Birdsong & Robins 1995. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: Colombia to Amazon River mouth (Brazil) Habitat: marine.

rossi, Akko Van Tassell [J. L.] & Baldwin [C. C.] 2004:3, Fig. 1 [Zootaxa No. 462; ref. 27546] Gulf of Fonseca, El Salvador, 13°12.89'N, 87°51.29'W to 13°51.29'N, 87°49.81'W, depth 7.0-9.5 meters. Holotype (unique): USNM 371780. •Valid as Akko rossi Van Tassell & Baldwin 2004 -- (Acero P. et al. 2005:138 [ref. 28151], Van Tassell 2011:167 [ref. 31732], González-Murcia et al. 2019:293 [ref. 36544]). Current status: Valid as Akko rossi Van Tassell & Baldwin 2004. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: El Salvador endemic. Habitat: marine.
