Paratypes: LACM 32558-8 (28), USNM 316694 (3). •Valid as Heteroconger pellegrini Castle 1999 -- (Castle & Randall 1999:7 [ref. 24042], Nelson et al. 2004:64 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:22 [ref. 37547], Page et al. 2013:65 [ref. 32708], Love et al. 2021:39 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Heteroconger pellegrini Castle 1999. Congridae: Heterocongrinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern tip of Baja California Sur (Mexico) south to Costa Rica, including Gulf of California (Mexico). Habitat: marine.
