Paratypes: BMNH 1964.11.27.1 (1); SIO 59-4 (4) (ex UCLA W56-237); USNM 202536 [ex UW 18498] (1). •Valid as Myripristis gildi Greenfield 1965 -- (Allen & Robertson 1994:95, 303 [ref. 22193], Schneider & Krupp in Fischer et al. 1995:1184 [ref. 22829], Kotlyar 1996:87 [ref. 23292], De La Cruz Agüero et al. 1997:212 [ref. 24545], Kotlyar 1998:206 [ref. 24674]). Current status: Valid as Myripristis gildi Greenfield 1965. Holocentridae: Myripristinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Clipperton Island endemic. Habitat: marine.
