Blanc attributes to Pellegrin 1925 as above, but that name is infrasubspecific and not available according to Schaller & Kottelat 1989:36 [ref. 13604], but here treated as valid [ICZN Art. 45.6.4]. •Synonym of Betta splendens Regan 1910 -- (Schaller & Kottelat 1989:36 [ref. 13604], Witte & Schmidt 1992:327 [ref. 14256], Wakiyama et al. 1997:100 [ref. 25519], Tan & Ng 2005:86 [ref. 28354], Kottelat 2013:453 [ref. 32989]).
