D.] in Eigenmann 1910:472 [Catalogue of the fresh-water fishes of tropical and south temperate America v. 3 (pt 4); ref. 1224] Supposedly a Cope species, but the reference to Regan 1905:343 [ref. 3623] lists flavilabris and frenifera. •In the synonymy of Laetacara flavilabris (Cope 1870). Misspelling. Current status: Synonym of Laetacara flavilabris (Cope 1870). Cichlidae: Cichlinae.

Lectotype selected in Kullander 1986:334 [ref. 12439]. •Synonym of Laetacara flavilabris (Cope 1870) -- (Kullander 1986:328 [ref. 12439], Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:638 [ref. 27061], Staeck 2003:159 [ref. 27488], Ottoni 2018:55 [ref. 35872]).
