longibarbis, Lissochilus Mai [D. Y.] (ex Hao & Hoa) 1978:98 [Identification of the fresh-water fishes of North Viet Nam v. 1; ref. 13511] Northern Vietnam. Syntypes: DVZUT. Apparently unavailable from Hao & Hoa 1969 according to Kottelat 1989:1102 [ref. 14361], but Kottelat 2001 [ref. 25482] reversed this interpretation and dated to Nguyen & Doan [= Hao & Hoa] 1969. •Preoccupied by Lissochilus longibarbis Nguyen & Doan 1969 [ref. 25483] if that description is treated as available. •Valid as Lissochilus longibarbis Mai 1978 -- (Endruweit 2024:15 [ref. 41040]). •Questionably in the synonymy of Poropuntius alloiopleurus (Vaillant 1893) -- (Kottelat 2001:35 [ref. 25482], Kottelat 2013:143 [ref. 32989]). longibarbis, Lissocheilus Nguyen [V. H.] & Doan [L. H.] 1969:11, Fig. 6 in ref. 29795 [Some data on composition, origin, and distribution of cyprinid species in northern Vietnam; ref. 25483] Ngoi Bo stream, Lao Cai Province, Vietnam. Lectotype: RIAH 1078. Paralectotypes: (7) lost. See Kottelat 2001:113, 118 for availability issues. Spelled several ways originally, and Kottelat 2001:118 [ref. 25482] as first reviser selected longibarbis. Original genus should have been Lissochilus. See Nguyen & Doan 2008 [ref. 29793] for an English translation of ref. 25483. Lectotype selected by Roberts & Catania 2008:90 [ref. 29794]. •Valid as Lissochilus longirabis Nguyen & Doan 1969 -- (Nguyen 1997:4 [ref. 24128] as longibarbus). •Tentative synonym of Poropuntius alloiopleurus(Vaillant 1893) -- (Kottelat 2001:35 [ref. 25482]). •Misspelled as longispinis on p. 95, but regarded as the same as alloiopleurus (Vaillant 1893, not 1888) but in the genus Paraspinibarbus -- (Roberts & Catania 2008:95 [ref. 29794]). •Synonym of Poropuntius alloiopleurus (Vaillant 1893) -- (Endruweit 2025:64 [ref. 42401]).
