Current status: Valid as Thayeria obliqua Eigenmann 1908. Acestrorhamphidae: Thayeriinae. Distribution: South America: Amazon and Orinoco river basins (Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru and Bolivia). IUCN (2023): Least Concern. Habitat: freshwater. sanctaemariae, Thayeria Ladiges [W.] 1951:129, Fig. [Zoologischer Anzeiger v. 146 (nos 5-6); ref. 12897] St. Maria, south of Carolina, Goiás, Brazil [probably erroneous, aquarium import]. Holotype (unique): ZSM 5893. Type catalog: Neumann 2011:248 [ref. 31652]. Originally as sanctae-mariae, correction mandatory. •Synonym of Thayeria obliqua Eigenmann 1908 -- (Lima & Moreira in Reis et al. 2003:157 [ref. 27061], Moreira 2024:282 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Synonym of Thayeria obliqua Eigenmann 1908. Acestrorhamphidae: Thayeriinae. Habitat: freshwater. |
