Holotype (unique): USNM 48769. •Valid as Conocara salmonea (Gill & Townsend 1897) -- (Markle & Quéro in Whitehead et al. 1984:241 [ref. 13675], Markle & Sazonov 1990:256 [ref. 14215]). •Valid as Ericara salmoneum Gill & Townsend 1897 -- (Matarese et al. 1989:76 [ref. 26885]). •Valid as Conocara salmoneum (Gill & Townsend 1897) -- (Sazonov et al. 1993:65 [ref. 21498], Sazonov 1997:787 [ref. 23745], Mecklenburg et al. 2002:168 [ref. 25968], Sazonov 2002:273 [ref. 26009], Carter & Hartel 2003:878 [ref. 27000], Love et al. 2005:31 [ref. 37547], Sazonov et al. 2009:854 [ref. 30625], Hartel & Orrell 2016:1769 [ref. 34565], Carneiro et al. 2019:77 [ref. 37250], Love et al. 2021:49 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:62 [ref. 40505]).
