Holotype (unique): USNM 78226. Correct spelling of the genus is Coelorinchus. •Valid as Caelorinchus spinifer Gilbert & Hubbs 1920 -- (Iwamoto 1999:1991 [ref. 24761]). •Valid as Coelorinchus spinifer Gilbert & Hubbs 1920 -- (Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:138 [ref. 18936], Iwamoto et al. 2009:47 [ref. 30612], Iwamoto et al. 2015:68 [ref. 35408] as cf. spinifer). Current status: Valid as Coelorinchus spinifer Gilbert & Hubbs 1920. Macrouridae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Indonesia, Sulawesi, South China Sea and off Taiwan. Habitat: marine.
