ramsayi, Percis Steindachner [F.] 1883:194 [Anzeiger der Kaiserlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Wien, Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Klasse v. 20 (no. 22); ref. 20488] St. Vincent Gulf, South Australia. Syntypes: (several) whereabouts unknown. Species originally spelled as above, but later listed as Parapercis ramsayi when described in more detail in the main work (Steindachner 1884:1072 [p. 8 of separate] [ref. 4234]). •Valid as Parapercis ramsayi (Steindachner 1883) -- (Cantwell 1964:249 [ref. 23974], McCosker 1971:684 [ref. 7692], Kuiter 1993:315 [ref. 23929], Gomon et al. 1994:713 [ref. 22532], Kuiter 1997:322 [ref. 25488], Hutchins 2001:40 [ref. 25847], Allen et al. 2006:1493 [ref. 29090], Johnson 2008:673 [ref. 30656], Allen & Erdmann 2017:16 [ref. 35514], Hoschke et al. 2019:159 [ref. 36626]). Current status: Valid as Parapercis ramsayi (Steindachner 1883). Pinguipedidae. Distribution: Southeastern Indian Ocean, southwestern Pacific: New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. Habitat: brackish, marine.
