Holotype (unique): AMS E.3563. •Synonym of Synchiropus phasis (Günther 1880) -- (Fricke 1981:27 [ref. 1499], Fricke 1982:75 [ref. 5432], Fricke 1983:572 [ref. 8349], Fricke 2002:63 [ref. 26547]). •Synonym of Foetorepus phasis (Günther 1880) -- (Gomon et al. 1994:779 [ref. 22532], Hoese & Bray 2006:1584 [ref. 29000]). •Valid as Foetorepus apricus (McCulloch 1926) -- (Gomon & Yearsley 2008:743 [ref. 30631], Williams et al. 2018:99 [ref. 36359]). •Valid as Synchiropus apricus (McCulloch 1926). Current status: Valid as Synchiropus apricus (McCulloch 1926). Callionymidae. Distribution: Southeastern Indian Ocean: southern Western Australia, South Australia (Australia). IUCN (2026): Not Assessed. Habitat: marine.
