Type catalog: Springer & Orrell 1996:5 [ref. 22274]. •Valid as Protemblemaria bicirrus (Hildebrand 1946) [but apparently incorrectly emended to bicirris] -- (Stephens 1963:16 [ref. 4270], Allen & Robertson 1994:249 [ref. 22193], Hastings in Fischer et al. 1995:999 [ref. 22829], Hastings 1997:758 [ref. 23518], De La Cruz Agüero et al. 1997:98 [ref. 24545], Chirichigno F. & Vélez D. 1998:252 [ref. 24555], Thomson et al. 2000:223 [ref. 25640], Hastings 2001:128 [ref. 25781], Nelson et al. 2004:166 [ref. 27807] as bicirris, Patzner et al. 2009:471 [ref. 30396], Page et al. 2013:172 [ref. 32708], Galván-Villa et al. 2016:149 [ref. 34871]). Current status: Valid as Protemblemaria bicirrus (Hildebrand 1946). Chaenopsidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific. Habitat: marine.
