Holotype: MNHN 1971-0032. Paratypes: MNHN 1971-0033 (2). Type catalog: Bauchot et al. 1993:105 [ref. 20810]. •Valid as Apterichtus monodi (Roux 1966) -- (McCosker 1977:66 [ref. 6836], McCosker et al. 1989:318 [ref. 13288], Leiby 1990:178 [ref. 13652], Machida & Ohta 1994:4 [ref. 21444], Hibino et al. 2014:[1] [ref. 33212], McCosker & Hibino 2015:69 [ref. 33725], McCosker 2016:1662 [ref. 34558], Fermon et al. 2022:116 [ref. 39448] possible). Current status: Valid as Apterichtus monodi (Roux 1966). Ophichthidae: Ophichthinae. Distribution: Eastern Atlantic: Senegal south to Nigeria, including Cape Verde Islands. Habitat: marine.
