Holotype (unique): SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 179. Type catalog: Winterbottom 2019:47 [ref. 37115]. The gender of the genus is neuter; the adjective should be corallinum. •Valid as Trimma corallinus (Smith 1959) -- (Hoese 1986:805 [ref. 5670]). •Valid as Trimma corallina (Smith 1959) -- (Hagiwara & Winterbottom 2007:164 [ref. 29103]). •Valid as Trimma corallinum (Smith 1959) -- (Winterbottom & Southcott 2007:75 [ref. 29375], Winterbottom & Hoese 2015:19, 93 [ref. 33709], Fricke et al. 2018:341 [ref. 35805], Allen 2019:45 [ref. 36486], Winterbottom 2019:47 [ref. 37115], Winterbottom & Zur in Larson 2022:141 [ref. 39971]). Current status: Valid as Trimma corallinum (Smith 1959). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) and East Africa to Madagascar and Seychelles; possibly Maldives. Habitat: marine.
