Holotype (unique): BMNH 1871.9.13.156. Current status: Valid as Hyporhamphus acutus (Günther 1872). Hemiramphidae. Distribution: Central Pacific: Marshall Islands east to Wake Island and Easter Island, south to Gilbert Islands and Tonga. Habitat: marine.
