singapurensis, Cheilodipterus Bleeker [P.] (ex Castelnau) 1860:452 [Natuurkundig Tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch Indië v. 20 (no. 3); ref. 14028] Singapore. Holotype: ?RMNH 5619 (144-mm TL specimen of 3). Additional material: second specimen mentioned in passing, whereabouts unknown. Based in part on a color painting in the Zoological Museum, University of Liège (see Russell et al. 2010:94 [ref. 30735]). The second specimen was regarded by Russell et al. 2010:95 [ref. 30735] as a paratype, but it could only be a syntype (or additional material as recognized here). •Valid as Cheilodipterus singapurensis Bleeker 1860 -- (Paxton et al. 1989:553 [ref. 12442], Gon 1993:52 [ref. 21133], Allen 1993:16 [ref. 20779], Allen 1997:106 [ref. 23977], Myers 1999:131 [ref. 23965], Allen 1999:2607 [ref. 24812], Allen 2000:101 [ref. 25868], Hutchins 2001:32 [ref. 25847], Allen & Adrim 2003:36 [ref. 26830], Kimura et al. in Kimura & Matsuura 2003:68 [ref. 27510], Allen et al. 2006:1101 [ref. 29004], Russell et al. 2010:95 [ref. 30735], Allen & Erdmann 2012:378 [ref. 31980], Fricke et al. 2014:71 [ref. 33932], Mabuchi et al. 2014:198 [ref. 33426], Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:57 [ref. 36965] as C. singaporensis). Current status: Valid as Cheilodipterus singapurensis Bleeker 1860. Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: West Pacific: Singapore and Malaysia east to Marshall Islands, south to New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
