Holotype: ?RMNH 5619 (144-mm TL specimen of 3). Additional material: second specimen mentioned in passing, whereabouts unknown. Based in part on a color painting in the Zoological Museum, University of Liège (see Russell et al. 2010:94 [ref. 30735]). Current status: Valid as Cheilodipterus singapurensis Bleeker 1860. Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: West Pacific: Singapore and Malaysia east to Marshall Islands, south to New Caledonia.
