Holotype (unique): SAM 14844 [now at AMG]. •Valid as Hemigrammocharax multifasciatus (Boulenger 1923) -- (Daget & Gosse 1984:195 [ref. 6185], Skelton 1993:197 [ref. 24071], Skelton 2001:197 [ref. 27406], Marshall 2011:127 [ref. 31755], Jerep & Vari 2013:31 [ref. 32557]). •Valid as Nannocharax multifasciatus Boulenger 1923 -- (Jerep et al. 2014:368 [ref. 33246], Jerep & Vari 2014:48 [ref. 33325], Bruton et al. 2018:56 [ref. 36373], Skelton 2019:234 [ref. 36564], Bragança et al. 2020:[6] [ref. 37879], Manda et al. 2023:14 [ref. 40270], Musschoot 2024:348 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Nannocharax multifasciatus Boulenger 1923. Distichodontidae. Distribution: Southern Africa: Zambia, Botswana and Angola. Habitat: freshwater.
