pulcherrima, Coris Günther [A.] 1862:200 [Catalogue of the fishes in the British Museum v. 4; ref. 1969] Ambon Island, Molucca Islands, Indonesia. Lectotype: BMNH 1858.4.21.33. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1861.5.31.54 (1, dry) Vanuatu; BMNH 1984.5.15.1 (1) Tahiti specimen not found. Based on specimens and literature. Lectotype selected by Randall 1999:40 [ref. 24043]. •Synonym of Coris gaimard (Quoy & Gaimard 1824) -- (Randall 1976:6 [ref. 22257], Randall 1999:38 [ref. 24043], Parenti & Randall 2000:15 [ref. 24943], Westneat 2001:3428 [ref. 26277], Mundy 2005:436 [ref. 28379]). Current status: Synonym of Coris gaimard (Quoy & Gaimard 1824). Labridae. Habitat: marine.
