Holotype (unique): MZUSP [ex DZSASP] 3356. Type catalog: Britski 1969:202 [ref. 12401], Oyakawa 1996:497 [ref. 23140]. Original genus should have been spelled Tometes. •Synonym of Myleus asterias (Müller & Troschel 1844) -- (Jégu in Reis et al. 2003:185 [ref. 27061]). •Synonym of Myloplus asterias (Müller & Troschel 1844) -- (Ota et al. 2024:413 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Synonym of Myloplus asterias (Müller & Troschel 1844). Serrasalmidae: Myleinae. Habitat: freshwater.
