Lectotype selected by Géry 1972:163 [ref. 1594]. •Questionably a synonymy of Myleus rubripinnis (Müller & Troschel 1844) -- (Géry 1972:162 [ref. 1594]). •Synonym of Myleus rubripinnis (Müller & Troschel 1844) -- (Jégu in Reis et al. 2003:186 [ref. 27061]). •Synonym of Myloplus rubripinnis (Müller & Troschel 1844) -- (Keith et al. 2000:14 [ref. 24547], Jégu et al. 2004:127 [ref. 27829], Andrade et al. 2016:579 [ref. 34960], Andrade et al. 2018:121 [ref. 35868], Ota et al. 2024:414 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Synonym of Myloplus rubripinnis (Müller & Troschel 1844). Serrasalmidae: Myleinae. Habitat: freshwater.
