Paratypes: Géry coll. •Genus Serrasalmus -- (Fink 1993:671 [ref. 20937]). •Synonym of Serrasalmus rhombeus (Linnaeus 1766) -- (Géry 1972:226 [ref. 1594], Machado-Allison 2002:69 [ref. 27640], Jégu in Reis et al. 2003:192 [ref. 27061] dating to 1963, Ota et al. 2024:427 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Synonym of Serrasalmus rhombeus (Linnaeus 1766). Serrasalmidae: Serrasalminae. Habitat: freshwater.
