Syntypes: ?ZMB 1386 (1). Type catalog: Paepke 1994:318 [ref. 21516]. Kottelat (2013) treats as Cuvier 1816 -- (Kottelat 2013:455 [ref. 32989]). Genus should have been spelled Osphronemus.
