Based on Myletes lippincottianus of Ulrey 1895 (not of Cope). Lectotype selected by Zarske & Géry 2008:193 [ref. 29917]. •Synonym of Metynnis lippincottianus (Cope 1870) -- (Zarske & Géry 1999:185 [ref. 23984], Jégu in Reis et al. 2003:184 [ref. 27061], Zarske & Géry 2008:195 [ref. 29917], Ota et al. 2024:408 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Synonym of Metynnis lippincottianus (Cope 1870). Serrasalmidae: Serrasalminae. Habitat: freshwater.
