endrachtensis, Platycephalus Quoy [J. R. C.] & Gaimard [J. P.] 1825:353 [Voyage autour du monde; ref. 3574] Shark Bay, Western Australia. Lectotype: MNHN 0000-6865 (larger specimen, 175 mm SL). Paralectotypes: MNHN 2007-0128 [ex 0000-6865] (1, smaller specimen, poor condition). Type catalog: Blanc & Hureau 1968:42-43 [ref. 20738]. Apparently named for the presumed type locality Eendrachtsland or Eendraghtsland [the old Dutch name for Australia]. Lectotype selected by Imamura 2008:404 [ref. 29892]. •Synonym of Platycephalus indicus (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Blanc & Hureau 1973:592 [ref. 7218]). •Valid as Platycephalus endrachtensis Quoy & Gaimard 1825 -- (Allen & Swainston 1988:52 [ref. 25477], Paxton et al. 1989:468 [ref. 12442], Imamura 1996:199 [ref. 22700], Allen 1997:80 [ref. 23977], Larson & Williams 1997:353 [ref. 23967], Knapp 1999:2408 [ref. 24807], Johnson 1999:729 [ref. 25471], Hutchins 2001:28 [ref. 25847] as eendrachtensis, Paxton et al. 2006:941 [ref. 29079], Imamura 2008:401, 404 [ref. 29892], Imamura 2012:119 [ref. 33646], Imamura 2013:282 [ref. 33362], Imamura 2015:190 [ref. 33640]). Current status: Valid as Platycephalus endrachtensis Quoy & Gaimard 1825. Platycephalidae. Distribution: Australia: Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia; also Bali. Habitat: marine.
