Syntypes: (not saved). Schmidt 1950:187 [ref. 12471] describes the nomenclatural history and arranges the sequence of junior synonyms of B. segaliensis. •Valid as Brachyopsis segaliensis (Tilesius 1809) -- (Lindberg & Krasyukova 1987:315 [ref. 15964], Kanayama 1991:112 [ref. 19261], Sheiko 1993:74 [ref. 21227], Sokolovskaya et al. 1998:10 [ref. 24670], Sheiko & Fedorov 2000:30 [ref. 25650], Choi et al. 2003:272, 580 [ref. 26218], Parin et al. 2002:S97 [ref. 28300], Sheiko & Mecklenburg 2004:15 [ref. 27591], Sheiko & Fedorov 2010:84 [ref. 38118], Parin et al. 2014:287 [ref. 33547], Dyldin & Orlov 2017:69 [ref. 35138]). Current status: Valid as Brachyopsis segaliensis (Tilesius 1809). Agonidae: Brachyopsinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: southern Okhotsk Sea to northern Japan Sea and Pacific coast of northern Japan. Habitat: brackish, marine.
