Paralectotypes: CAS-SU 361 (2); USNM 41147 (1), 41156 (1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:139-140 [ref. 12291]. Based on Hippoglossina macrops of Jordan & Bollman 1889:175 [ref. 2433], not of Steindachner. Lectotype established by Norman 1934:68 [ref. 6893]. •Valid as Hippoglossina bollmani Gilbert 1890 -- (Bussing & López S. 1994:152 [ref. 23101], Hensley in Fischer et al. 1995:1369 [ref. 22830], Andreata & Séret 1996:589 [ref. 16204] with authors and date as Meek & Hildebrand 1928, De La Cruz Agüero et al. 1997:252 [ref. 24545], Chirichigno F. & Vélez D. 1998:200 [ref. 24555], Nelson et al. 2004:180 [ref. 27807], McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:195 [ref. 30957], Page et al. 2013:185 [ref. 32708], Robertson et al. 2017:103 [ref. 35676]). Current status: Valid as Hippoglossina bollmani Gilbert 1890. Paralichthyidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern Baja California to Peru, including Cocos and Galápagos islands. Habitat: marine.
