Current status: Valid as Iguanodectes spilurus (Günther 1864). Iguanodectidae. Distribution: South America: Amazon and Orinoco river basins (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
