Original genus should have been Rypticus. Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Rypticus maculatus Holbrook 1855. •Synonym of Rypticus nigripinnis Gill 1861 -- (Parenti & Randall 2020:101 [ref. 37354]). 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Rypticus nigripinnis Gill 1861. Grammistidae. Habitat: marine.
