Holotype (unique): ZMFMIB (now ASIZB) 6237. •Synonym of Nemacheilus barbatulus (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Berg 1949:871 [ref. 20661] as Nemachilus). •Valid as Triplophysa cuneicephala (Shaw & Tchang 1931) -- (Zhu 1989:77 [ref. 17744], Zhu 1995:113 [ref. 25213], Wang et al. 2001:171 [ref. 26566], Kottelat 2012:124 [ref. 32367], Zhang et al. 2016:137 [ref. 34477]). Current status: Valid as Triplophysa cuneicephala (Shaw & Tchang 1931). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: China. Habitat: freshwater.
