Holotype: SAM 13076. Paratypes: BMNH 1927.12.6.54 [ex SAM] (1), 1930.1.14.9-10 [ex SAM] (2); SAM 29212 (1); ZSI F10753/1 (2). Type catalog: Menon & Yazdani 1968:153 [ref. 20743] as banardi. See Das 2003:376 [ref. 27706]. •Synonym of Ctenotrypauchen microcephalus (Bleeker 1860) -- (Maugé 1986:366 [ref. 6218]). •Synonym of Trypauchen microcephalus Bleeker 1860 -- (Hoese 1986:805 [ref. 5670]). •Synonym of Paratrypauchen microcephalus (Bleeker 1860) -- (Murdy 2008:118 [ref. 29751], Kottelat 2013:433 [ref. 32989], Parenti 2021:66 [ref. 38603], Larson 2022:22 [ref. 39965]). Current status: Synonym of Paratrypauchen microcephalus (Bleeker 1860). Gobiidae: Amblyopinae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
