On p. 33 of English translation. •Questionably a synonym of Sabanejewia balcanica (Karaman 1922) -- (Kottelat 1997:91 [ref. 22952]). •Synonym of Sabanejewia aurata (De Filippi 1863), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Reshetnikov et al. 1997:744 [ref. 24702], Vasil'eva 1998:102 [ref. 23591]). •Synonym of Sabanejewia aurata (De Filippi 1863) -- (Bogutskaya et al. 2001:45 [ref. 26178]). •Valid as Sabanejewia kubanica Vsil'eva & Vasil'ev 1988 -- (Bogutskaya & Naseka 2004:110 [ref. 28183], Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:325 [ref. 29996], Kottelat 2012:42 [ref. 32367], Dyldin et al. 2020:111 [ref. 37569]). Current status: Valid as Sabanejewia kubanica Vasil'eva & Vasil'ev 1988. Cobitidae. Distribution: Eastern Europe: Kuban River drainage, Black Sea watersheds, northwestern Caucasus (Russia). Habitat: freshwater.
