G.] 1989:312, Fig. 1 [Cybium v. 13 (no. 4); ref. 13539] An affluent of New Calabar River, 3 kilometers south of Isiokpo (4°57'N, 6°53'E), Nigeria. Holotype: MRAC 88-12-P-1. Paratypes: MRAC 87-21-P-9 (1), 87-24-P-85-86 (2), 88-12-P-2-5 (4), 88-12-P-6-10 (5), 88-12-P-11 (1, c&s), 88-12-P-12 (1, c&s), 88-12-P-13-14 (2), 88-37-P-51-70 (20), 88-37-P-71-74 (4). •Valid as Nannocharax latifasciatus Coenen & Teugels 1989 -- (Coenen in Lévêque et al. 1990:251 [ref. 21589], Lévèque et al. 1991:140 [ref. 31367], Vari 2007:443 [ref. 30023], Moritz 2010:289 [ref. 30684], Jerep et al. 2014:368 [ref. 33246], Jerep & Vari 2014:48 [ref. 33325], Fermon et al. 2022:144 [ref. 39448] with question). Current status: Valid as Nannocharax latifasciatus Coenen & Teugels 1989. Distichodontidae. Distribution: West Africa: Nigeria south to Cameroon. Habitat: freshwater.
